I started out in New York -- upstate, not city -- a place called Ithaca. I was a professor, a designer, responsible but not repressed. Older than my students, but younger then all the other professors. One day during winter break I turned to my partner, Jetsam, and said: "I am done with this. Let's go. Just travel."
Jetsam smiled this knowing smile of one who has traveled before and replied: "It's about time."
We sold and gave away and donated and bartered everything we had over the long, cold upstate winter months and set out in our car (her name is Moxie) for elsewhere. No where in particular, just else where.
And the adventures began...

If you were walking into an AmArA art gallery exhibit, you would be stomping off your shoes right about now, enjoying the warmth on your face, and pulling off your gloves. I would be reaching out to shake your hand, "Hey! I am the artist, Amara. Take off your coat, through there, and get some wine or coffee! Introduce yourself to the art, I will come chat with you in a bit." There is always that moment, glancing over art (be it on a webpage or in a gallery) when a piece catches your eye. You look closer. You walk around it, you move far away and walk towards it slowly. You become acquainted. That is when I appear back to your side, wine in hand, looking at the piece: "What do you see?" I...
